  • Position Summary

    Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for the implementation and management of employee relations, HR compliance, benefits, compensation and other related Human Resources programs. The Human Resources Manager engages with leaders of the organization to understand business strategies and translate them into actionable HR strategies compliant with regulatory requirements, and supportive of business results.

    Major Duties & Responsibilities

    • Engages in strategic and goal planning processes in order to align HR strategies with the achievement of successful business outcomes
    • Establishes and maintains positive associate relations; provides guidance and advice to managers and supervisors on associate coaching, counseling and discipline
    • Investigates and appropriately resolves complex employee relations issues; coaches managers as necessary to mitigate risk and take appropriate corrective actions
    • Facilitates the implementation of change management initiatives and partners with business leaders to effectively communicate strategies, goals, values and performance expectations to leaders and associates
    • Prepares first level analysis of positions utilizing various methods to make job grade and compensation recommendations
    • Manages and represents company at HR-related audits
    • Develops, communicates and manages competitive total rewards strategies including compensation, benefits, engagement and other work experience programs that are cost effective and consistent with labor market trends and organizational objectives
    • Implements, administers and audits company benefit programs ensuring plan compliance
    • Oversees leave of absence process, workers’ compensation and OSHA reporting
    • Assists in the development and communication of HR policies and procedures
    • Leads/assists with HR projects and development/implementation of HR initiatives
    • Provides leadership and coaching to direct reports

    Required Education

    Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration or a related discipline

    Required Skills & Experience

    • 10+ years as an HR generalist in areas of increasing responsibility
    • 4+ years of management experience
    • Proficient computer skills within Microsoft Office
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills and customer service focus
    • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond to problems creatively
    • Demonstrated success in coaching and influencing leaders at all levels of the organization
    • Ability to build collaborative relationships within the HR organization as well as across the company
    • Success managing company-wide projects from start to finish

    Preferred Skills, Experience & Education

    • Previous experience working in a multi-state environment
    • Certifications: PHR (or SHRM-CP) or SPHR (SHRM-SCP)
