    Position Summary

    The Quality Field Auditor performs on-site compliance audits to internal processes and procedures, OSHA requirements, JCAHO and state-to-state regulatory requirements.  Will be a resource to help facilitate achievement of individual ETC objectives of quality, safety, efficiency, productivity, customer service, and regulatory compliance.

    Major Duties & Responsibilities

    • Perform internal quality audit(s) at assigned Joerns Healthcare ETC locations per documented audit schedule; ensuring compliance to applicable procedures, JCAHO, OSHA, state and other applicable regulatory entities.
    • Generate audit reports and audit corrective action plans based on any audit non-conformances identified during the audit(s).
    • Facilitates the effective and timely communication of audit results, trending, and data mining.
    • Responsible for ensuring that the audit corrective action plans are answered in a timely manner, closed out and effective, this includes but is not limited to:
      • Working with the service operations management to create new or re-write; existing procedures and work instructions as required to address the audit non-conformances;
      • Facilitating cross-company teams to address non-conformances;
      • Acts as a quality resource for all auditees.
    • Assist in the evaluation of processes, which improve productivity, effectiveness, and cost containment.
    • Collect, screen and evaluate information at ETC locations to identify and pursue opportunities, which improve all aspects of patient care and services.
    • May also be tasked with performing external quality system audits at Joerns Suppliers.
    • Performs related duties as assigned by Quality Manager.
    • Must be able to travel 60% to 70% of the time to other locations.

    Required Education

    Bachelors degree or equivalent

    Required Skills & Experience

    • 3-5 years experience in a medical device or regulated industry conducting internal and /or external audits.
    • Must be computer literate within a Windows environment.
    • Must possess good communication skills, tact and diplomacy.
    • ISO 13485 and/or ASQ certified auditor.
    • JCAHO regulations
    • OSHA regulations
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of suppliers or employees of organization.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
    • Ability to apply mathematical and analytical skills to quantify results.

    Preferred Skills, Experience & Education

    • Knowledge of State of California regulatory requirements a plus.
