Position Summary

The Customer Master Data Specialist is responsible for the overall customer master data maintenance. Formulates, implements, and enforces proper data collection policies and procedures.  Enters, validates, and maintains accuracy of all master data elements in new CRM/SAP and ensures Salesforce.com accuracy as it relates to customer master data. Communicates with and works on project teams with IT, customer care and members of the sales team. Monitors all change notifications received from customers and ensures information is entered properly in compliance with systems requirements. Coordinates change management activities with sales representatives and Finance/Credit. Educates and trains users on how to properly create and convert accounts.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing SAP (ECC/CRM) - owns customer master and measure departmental adherence to the process (account creation, changes, conversions, etc.)
  • Researches potential duplicate records; ensures compliance with naming and address standards
  • Manage all DSSI account set up and maintain all live/no longer live accounts in VOE4 (Customer Master Table)
  • Responsible for EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) account set up
  • Maintains OV50 (Customer Master Data Comparison)
  • Understands commissions and reporting processes and works with cross-functional team to ensure customer information, sales representative linking, and all aspects of customer database are correct
  • Process all account application requests to include billing set up from accounting
  • Perform national accounts and DSSI audits to ensure accounts are mapped and linked correctly
  • Implements facility roster updates through validation and change process. Facility rosters include but are not limited to corporate buy/sell activity and Sold To/Ship To requests
  • Mass data uploads in SAP (LSMW) and exports for BI
  • Associate will work in Salesforce.com as needed to ensure timely changes to the database are available for the Sales team, to import leads received from Marketing, create and/or update fields as well as reports
  • Assisting Accounting/Finance team with billing creations/corrections and EDI/DSSI requests
  • Assisting Customer Care and Order Management teams
  • Create and maintain business procedure policies related to the customer master
  • Process requests delivered to facility updates to answer all questions involving the customer master

Required Education

4 year degree required

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2 years data administration or similar experience
  • Computer Literacy – must be a proficient user of MS Office Programs with advanced Excel skills
  • Exceptional accuracy is a requirement for this position
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills and interpersonal skills needed along with creative problem solving skills
  • Committed, accessible, problem-solver, able to attend to detail, ability to follow through
  • Resourceful, self-assured, self-motivated, possesses a sense of urgency
  • Able to communicate and demonstrate action consistent with the company mission and objectives
  • Knowledge of SAP (ECC/CRM) customer master data

Preferred Skills, Experience & Education

  • Experience with MS Suite (Excel, Access, Power BI, etc.), Salesforce.com and basic ETL understanding
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly with cross-functional groups of people
  • Excel skills utilizing functions such as V-Lookup and Concatenate as well as other program features such as pivot tables, conditional formatting, charts and graphs, etc.
  • Demonstrates highly driven, self-starter characteristics with the ability and willingness to work independently but can also be a team player
  • Ability to multi-task; monitoring/following up on various facets of different activities
