Position Summary

The Senior Document Control Specialist is responsible for managing the process and implements documentation for Joerns Healthcare Quality Management System. They ensure the processes, documents and entries are consistent with established standards. In addition they are also responsible document control performance metrics.  

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Creates, updates, maintains, reviews, processes and distributes Joerns policies, procedures, forms, practices, product and document master files and drawings
  • Audits SAP for accuracy against change orders and requests
  • Document control process owner in ISO and regulatory audits
  • Manages document change order process executed in Master Control
  • Guarantees the timely processing of all change orders and coordinates the effective implementation of all controlled documents
  • Resolve internal customer issues with Master Control
  • Improve quality system and regulatory conformance
  • Assures the accuracy of controlled document storage
  • Develop and maintain Days Credits Outstanding (DCO) metrics and the overall document change process performance
  • Assist in defining and leading the Joerns Healthcare overall document control strategy
  • Manage documentation of manufacturing, service operations, and field operations
  • Acts as the global document coordinator for Joerns Healthcare

Required Education

Minimum of a Bachelor degree (B. A.) or equivalent education/work experience

Required Skills & Experience

  • Must be proficient in Office products i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point, Acrobat Pro, etc.
  • Experience in an ISO environment; SAP and Master Control knowledge preferred
  • 5 to 10 years of experience with document processing and data management experience required
  • Previous experience managing DCO projects on a medium to large scale highly desirable
  • Previous cGMP documentation experience in medical device or medical laboratory environment highly preferred

Preferred Skills, Experience & Education

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
