Position Summary

The Supply Chain Forecast Analyst role is responsible for developing a forecast based on cross-functional input and collaboration with many departments.  The Forecast Analyst will document forecast exceptions, measure forecast accuracy, and implement best practices to continuously improve accuracy and a lean forecast process.  The Forecast Analyst will be a key player in corporate business planning and the S&OP process.  The Forecast Analyst will also be responsible for driving component purchasing for the manufacturing facility and will help validate and resolve capacity issues when demand balancing can be adjusted.

 

**The Supply Chain Forecast Analyst position is based in Arlington, TX**

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conversion of revenue forecasts to unit forecasts by SKU.
  • Challenging the existing forecast with updated information from the SIOP process.
  • Developing statistical forecast based on history, opportunity projections and product portfolio/lifecycle development.
  • Create processes that identify outliers and research root-cause for the outliers.
  • Expand National/Network forecasts to regional, district and warehouse forecasts.
  • Measure forecast accuracy at all geographic levels, product families, with 30/60/90 day lag.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to capture forecast assumptions and provide value via analysis.
  • Use forecasts to create simulations (Inventory, Metric Results, etc.)
  • Hold weekly forecast meetings and identify WoW changes that would influence the forecast or actual outcome.
  • Create a weekly reporting deck to communicate forecasts.
  • Work with peers to ensure accurate usage of the forecast and serve as a subject matter expert to assist all employees.
  • Utilize Six Sigma tools and advocate Lean principles.
  • 50% SC Forecasting and 50% Change Management.
  • Approx. 25% travel required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Individual contributor.  May be responsible for project resources or temporary employees during project and corporate initiatives.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline

Required Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years CPG and SCM experience creating and evaluating primarily product forecasts required.
  • Must be able to communicate forecasts to multiple areas, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Manufacturing, etc.
  • SAP R/3
    • MM/PP
    • LIS
    • Planning BOMs
  • Material Requirements Planning
  • Differentiated Algorithm Utilization(Smoothing, Seasonal, Moving Average, etc.)
  • Off the shelf forecast tools R, ForecastPro, etc.

Preferred Skills, Experience & Education

  • Hierarchical forecast aggregation and disaggregation
  • Make-To-Order and Make-To-Stock forecast generation
  • Rough Cut Capacity Planning
  • S&OP implementation experience
  • Handling Big Data
  • Building and managing large databases
  • Expert Excel and Access capabilities
  • PowerBI or other dashboard applications
