Position Summary :
The Purchasing Associate assists Senior Buyers, Buyers, and Associate Buyer in all administrative and clerical functions in accordance with purchasing responsibilities.
Major Duties & Responsibilities :
Accurately enters and places purchase orders in a timely manner for Senior Buyers and Buyers.
Expedites open purchase orders for assigned vendor lines. Updates purchase orders with accurate arrival dates, product availability and backorder status.
Verify product, pricing and quantity on invoices against purchase order. Submit approval for payment to Finance.
Provide directive on the distribution of inventory. Schedule pick up of equipment with Regional Coordinators and freight forwarding companies.
Generate two month report, forecasting rental inventory needs and submit to Management.
Enters new items into inventory system.
Enters new costs for vendor price change folders for assigned vendors, as well as any invoice cost corrections.
Seek reduction in costs with new and existing vendors.
Review/Revise forms and protocols for accuracy and efficiency.
Assists in special order research and pricing in backup capacity.
Utilizes excellent customer service skills to successfully interface with Vendors and members of Purchasing Department, as well as internal customers in other departments within the company.
Complete all required training applicable to assigned position.
Monitor and order all office supplies. Provide nursing and operations staff with service forms. Print and log distribution of barcode stickers to branches.
Process return authorizations and warranty orders for rental inventory and customer orders. Log detailed summary of process.

Required Education :
High school degree or equivalent
Required Skills & Experience :
Two plus years experience in a business environment
Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.
Must possess ability to multi-task and maintain strong attention to detail in a fast paced environment.
Excellent follow through skills.
Computer literate with knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing applications
Preferred Skills, Experience & Education :
Relevant knowledge of industry specific experience
Experience in a Purchasing Department
Knowledge of HP systems
4 year degree
